Can You Lose 30 Pounds In A Month?

Most of us, at one time or another, have felt the pressure to lose weight quickly. Maybe you want to look good for swimsuit season. Maybe you have a wedding or other big event coming up and want to look your best. Whatever the reason, there are many people out there who want to lose weight, say thirty pounds or so, as quickly as possible. While this may not be a realistic goal for many people, for some it is entirely possible to lose 30 pounds in a month if the right steps are taken. Now, whether you realistically can do this or not depends on a few factors.

Starting Weight

Obviously, not everyone is physically capable of losing 30 pounds in a month. If you are only thirty pounds overweight, you most certainly will not be able to do it. The body likes holding on to a little bit of extra weight as a survival tactic, and does not let go of it easily. If, however, you have 100 pounds or more to lose, the body is much more willing to let that weight go.  Unfortunately, even the best weight loss tips in the world can't change that.

Discipline

Since you are dealing with a fairly short timeframe to lose a significant amount of weight, you are going to need to be very disciplined. In the grand scheme of weight loss, a few cheats or a few slip-ups here and there are to be expected. You can't be expected to live your life without another bite of cheesecake or another piece of pizza. However, when it comes to losing 30 pounds in 30 days, absolute discipline is required in order to meet your goal. Lean meats, lots of green vegetables, plenty of fiber, and water to drink are the keys to your success. You will also need to exercise for at least 30 to 60 minutes almost every day.

Attitude

You need to have the right attitude going into this, or your weight loss efforts are doomed. Many people who are trying to lose weight go in with a bad attitude. They only think about the things they are being deprived of and how much they hate working out. You need to be positive if you are going to have any success. Focus instead on the things you can eat. Find physical activities that you enjoy doing, or can do without seeing it as torture. Think about how good you are going to feel when you accomplish your goal. That is how you lose 30 pounds in a month.

It will not be a particularly easy process. If you have watched shows like The Biggest Loser where people lose a great deal of weight quickly, you have seen some of the effort involved. Not everyone is able to lose 30 pounds in thirty days, but for many of us it is very possible. If you are starting out with a great deal of weight to lose, have a good attitude about what you are doing, and have the discipline to see it through, there is nothing stopping you from losing weight and becoming healthy.
